As a leader in delivering amateur and high performance sport to Calgarians, Repsol Sport Centre is proud to honour its athletes with a total of $16,250 this year, funded by The John Currie Amateur Sport Legacy Fund. Under careful deliberation and criteria examination, the LPSS Bursary Committee designated 18 amateur athletes to be recognized and financially rewarded for outstanding athletic achievement in support of their future training and competition goals. The honourees are a mix of Olympic hopefuls, veterans and up and comers, representing 8 sports. There are 5 men and 13 women ranging from 13 to 37 years. Further, 83% of the recipients train 19 hours a week or more, and proudly call Repsol Sport Centre their home.
MEET OUR MEDIA AMBASSADORS
The health of a brand is reflected in the authentic customer affinity towards that brand. And, creating a brand impact is not a solo endeavor – it takes a community. The Centre’s community begins with our loyal members and is multiplied tenfold by the dedication of our family of media brand ambassadors. These local celebrity radio DJ’s have earned the respect of fellow members and staff as they sweat it out under the tent and share the highs and lows of their fitness journeys through membership, and training opportunities. They are micro influencers at their radio stations, and with their friends and macro influencers through their large social media networks, helping the Centre strengthen its reputation, extend its marketing reach, and target specific demographics. The buzz and cultural impact the Centre receives from these custom partnerships and genuine word of mouth advertising endorsing the Centre’s offerings and touting us as their favourite gym, is priceless. Repsol Sport Centre is super proud of this crew, and being the only facility in Calgary with a successful media ambassador program.
